Church Media Is Changing How Ministers Deliver The Word Will You Be Left Behind?

How Church Media Is Helping Ministries Stay Connected
Media controls much of the world today, with text messaging and social networking websites putting emphasis on technologically based relationships. A standard is being set and many churches are staying ahead of the game with some of the latest technology available.

Church media such as Live Streaming and Podcasting are making the church more media savvy. Often times, work or sickness keep members from attending services.

To bridge the gap so to speak, numerous churches offer live streaming from their websites in order to bring services into a member's living room in real time. Podcasting is similar; though not in real time, it offers the listener to subscribe to services and listen an iPod or from a computer. Using digital audio recording makes this process easier, as the sound can be manipulated and changed using computer software, creating better production quality.

Church Media Has Even Changed The Common Microphone
Also, for the past few years, plug in microphones have been exiting stage left to make the way for cleaner looking, more media friendly wireless microphones. The wireless mics have more to offer than just better recording and sound quality.

These microphones allow churches to do skits, productions and music routines free-handed, a less distracting option to passing the microphone around to various cast members.

Pastors using wireless mics have the liberty to walk away from the pulpit and even the stage, to appear more relevant to their listeners. Upgrading to a wireless system can be costly though. There are wireless channels and equipment to purchase. Also, much of the newer equipment available suffers the chance of being obsolete if it operates in the 700 megahertz range.

The FCC has auctioned off this frequency range to many wireless providers and it is probable that churches will begin to get interference on these ranges. Opting for a frequency above or below this range will keep upgrades from becoming worthless.

What’s Next With Church Media?
Church media departments are also beginning to use HD equipment. Since most broadcasting and video is now in HD, it makes since for the future of church media trends to be focused on the HD experience. Having an HD projector gives a crisp look to the screens and allows the aspect ratio on the main screen to be equivalent to the aspect ratios on the plasma and LCD screens throughout the church.

Since equipment, software, rules and reguilations are always changing, with the quest to be more relevant, the church has to continue to be more and more cutting edge when it comes to technology. By keeping abreast of church media, ministries can be at the forefront of the changes.
